The hot weather has returned, and so have the bugs!

Now that the hot weather is back, you're probably spending more time outdoors going camping, having back yard barbecue’s with the family, going to the playground with the kids or spending days at the beach. You've probably noticed the bugs have returned full force this year as well!

Our friend Jean, who works at Whole Foods Market likes to go camping up in the woods of Vermont with her family. She told us the story of how she and her family were the only ones who were not getting bit by the mosquitoes because she had sprayed them with Soyweet Relief! Insect Spray. Everybody else was using the nasty chemical stuff and was still getting bit! Of course, they all asked to use her Soyweet Relief! to stop the mosquitoes from biting them, which she gladly did.

Everyone said that they have to get some of this stuff because it really works. Jean swears by it and recommends it to her customers all the time. Kids like it because it has a fresh lemony scent, and everyone likes it because it's a non-greasy formula, so you don't have that tacky feeling on your skin.

Whether you're dealing with mosquitoes, flies, ticks, or gnats, Soyweet Relief! Insect Spray is a welcome relief from those pesky and irritating little critters.

It all started with a stuffy nose…

…please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sherry Kelly and I am the founder and owner of Soy of Life.

On Christmas Eve 2005, I had prepared a wonderful dinner for my family. My sister-in-law loved candles, so several candles were placed around the room to add to the atmosphere. About half-way through the evening I started to get a terrible headache, stuffy nose and had trouble tasting the wonderful dinner. It was as if a bell went off in my head. I recalled all the negative info I had heard and read about paraffin wax candles in the past few weeks and quickly came to the conclusion that I never wanted to light another paraffin candle again. But I loved candles and their amazing charm.

The next few days were spent looking for a natural alternative to paraffin candles. The two choices I found were beeswax and soy. I then stumbled upon a website that taught me how to make my own soy candles. It seemed so easy and I knew I could have so much fun using different essential oil blends to scent them. As a studied aroma therapist I knew the many benefits of essential oils. The choice was soy as it is more readily available than beeswax; it burns virtually soot free and does not release any toxins. I then remembered that my hometown of Plymouth, MA had a farmer’s market and it would be a great place to sell them there as wonderful gifts.

Looking on the internet for soy wax suppliers I discovered to my excitement several physicians’ websites that taught the multiple benefits of soy for your skin. Soy is rich in Vitamin E, aids in the synthesis of collagen, proteins and elastin, promotes a naturally radiant complexion and can help fade age spots. Not only is it a great moisturizer but it also can help to make your skin healthier and more vibrant. This simple finding became my passion to create a natural skincare line featuring soy. Extensive research on soy, other botanicals and the consultation with cosmetic biologists and herbalists helped me formulate my premium skincare line Soy of Life, nature’s skincare.
